  1. Hai Rebecca,
I miss Holland in the list of categories. I am Dutch and there is something great going on in The Netherlands. As a tourist visiting Holland you will have a hard time finding a Dutch restaurant that serves typical Dutch food. Holland has many international restaurants, but just a few that specializes in food from the Netherlands. It is almost impossible to eat traditional Dutch food.
There is a website now where a tourist can book a seat at the Dutch kitchen table in a Dutch home. One eats traditional Dutch food and it is also an culture swap, because the Dutchie and tourist eat together. A great way to meet the locals. We are very enthusiastic about the idea!
Kind regards and keep up your great website

      Hi Marijke,
Sounds like an interesting idea! I have had a look at your website and it looks great.
My blog is very new at the moment and I have plans to include a lot more places as time goes by – and Holland will be one! I haven’t been in a while, but I will certainly bear Home Food Holland in mind next time I go. It really would be nice to eat some traditional Dutch food in a Dutch home.
Thanks for the complements on my website and for the follow on Twitter.

  2. Hi Becca,
A greeting from one-time Maths teacher turned trainee cook since retiring. Guess who put me in touch with your international food blog? I am glad she did, it is very interesting.
I have been going to various cookery classes for several years now and have ascended to the dizzy heights of ‘moderate’. High point so far, making my nephew’s wedding cake last month (with help).
It would be great to hear from you if you have time.

Hello John (or should I still say Mr Saul?!)

Thanks so much for your message – that’s great to hear you are enjoying the blog, and well done on achieving your “moderate” – sounds pretty good to me!

Let me know if you fancy guest blogging on global streetbite :-)

      Hopefully catch up sometime soon,
